Hey, little adventurers! Today, we’re going to talk about a story from the Bible where Abram (who later becomes Abraham) turns into a superhero! This isn’t just any adventure – it’s about a rescue mission, making new friends, and getting a super cool promise.
The Great Rescue Once upon a time, Abram and his family were living peacefully when trouble brewed. Four kings with big armies decided to fight against five other kings, and this big battle happened in a place called the Vale of Siddim. During this battle, Abram’s nephew, Lot, got captured! Oh no!
But guess what? Abram didn’t panic. He gathered 318 of his bravest men for a daring night rescue. They snuck up on the bad kings, fought bravely, and saved Lot along with all the other people and their things that were taken. Can you imagine being as brave as Abram and his crew?
Meetings with Kings After the rescue, Abram met two kings: the King of Sodom and another cool king named Melchizedek from a place called Salem. Melchizedek was super thankful for Abram’s heroics and even brought out some bread and wine to celebrate. He also gave Abram a special blessing because Abram had helped so many people.
A Very Special Promise Here’s where it gets even more amazing! God was so pleased with Abram that He made a big promise. God told Abram that his family would grow to be as many as the stars in the sky. Even though Abram didn’t have any children at that time, God promised him he’d have more descendants than he could count. And to seal the deal, God promised Abram and his family a huge land to call their own.
Abram’s Big Heart Oh, and when the King of Sodom tried to give Abram lots of treasures as a thank you, Abram said, “No thank you.” He didn’t want people to think he rescued Lot just to get rich. Abram showed us it’s important to do kind things because it’s the right thing to do, not to get rewards.
Lessons from Abram’s Story:
- Be Brave: Like Abram, we can face our fears and help others, even when it seems scary.
- Be Kind: Helping others is super important. You can be a hero to someone by being a good friend.
- Believe in Promises: Sometimes, we might not see how a promise could come true, but having hope and faith like Abram can lead to amazing things.
- Sharing is Caring: Abram shared his victory with his friends and didn’t take things that weren’t his. Sharing with others makes everything better.
- Saying Thank You: Melchizedek said “thank you” to Abram with bread and wine. Remember to always say “thank you” when someone helps you out.
So, there you have it, a story about bravery, kindness, and amazing promises. Remember, you can be brave like Abram in your own adventures! What kind of adventure would you like to go on? And how would you help your friends along the way?
