God’s Love: Infinite and Personal

There’s a lot of discussion about how God loves us. On one side, it’s said that God’s love is limitless and incomprehensible. It’s unconditional, embracing everything that exists, everything that has been altered, whether spiritually or physically.

On the other side, the Bible tells us that God loves what He considers His own and what is holy. He cherishes those whom He has chosen for Himself. In this context, “holy” means pure and set apart from everything else.

This brings up a big question: How can God love everything in the world and, at the same time, choose to love only some?

Many believers think the answer lies in a deep understanding of God’s intentions. God’s boundless love doesn’t exclude the possibility that He can love selectively. This means God’s love operates on all levels of life, inviting everyone closer to Him through purity and a desire for holiness. God’s love calls us to transform, aiming to be holy – closer to God.

The fact that God chooses does not mean rejection: it’s more an indication of a path to God, available to anyone seeking truth and purity of heart. Holiness here isn’t a status but a way of life, a constant aspiration to be closer to the divine.

So, God’s love, though it may seem hard to grasp, is ultimately geared towards leading each of us into a deep, personal relationship with the Creator. There, each can experience His embracing love, which also encourages us to become holy.

God’s love is an invitation to special relationships, where we constantly strive for holiness, purity, and true closeness with Him. This makes our lives genuinely special and meaningful in the eyes of God.
